Garver provided the City of Huntsville Geographic Information System (GIS) department with XYZ coordinates for over 4,000 manhole lids. On our fifth consecutive contract, Garver also provided one direct measurement from the top of each manhole ring to the center line invert. Coordinates are referenced to the Alabama State Plane East Zone, NAD 83 and NAD 88 Vertical based upon the 2003 Geoid.
Survey control is determined by ties to the existing City of Huntsville Geodetic Control Network as well as the CORS station located at the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center Geo Spatial Center. Garver utilized Trimble and Leica GPS receivers and a Trimble Robotic Total Station for this project.
All data was analyzed by a Garver Licensed Land Surveyor and submitted to the City of Huntsville GIS Staff a minimum of once each week. The data is stored and maintained on the City's Computerized Data Management System by the GIS staff. |
