Project
Garver designed a complete electrical retrofit for an existing wastewater treatment plant at the UPRR Neff Yard. The existing WWTP's mechanical and electrical systems were not documented, and spare parts for the control system could not be purchased because the supplier had gone out of business. Garver developed a Process and Instrumentation diagram of the plant process and designed a PLC controlled Motor Control Center with an HMI screen to replace the antiquated control system.
The new design included PLC/HMI and Radio Telemetry control of two outlying lift stations that feed the plant, allowing control of the entire system from one location. Garver provided SCADA control so the entire operation can be controlled from any UPRR licensed computer on the client's intranet.
