Garver provided civil and structural design for the Verizon Arena. This 18,000-seat arena houses sports, music, conventions, and other entertainment events. The roof features two 320-foot-long steel box trusses (35 feet deep) as major supports. The seating is precast concrete risers on poured-in-place concrete raker beams and columns. The concourse floor is composite concrete and steel framing, and the foundation is auger cast friction piling.
The site design included an exterior plaza with handicap ramping and numerous architectural and landscaping features. Project site work was interfaced with City utilities. The project was bid in packages for fast-track construction. |
