Project
Garver performed planning, design, construction administration, and construction observation for the 1,050-foot extension of Runway 4R, including paving and lighting design and navigational aids relocation.

The project consisted of these aspects:
  • 123,317 cubic yards of embankment construction
  • 52,000 cubic yards of excavation and unclassified excavation
  • 37,000 square yards of cement treated base
  • 35,000 square yards of 18-inch Portland cement treated base course.

Garver was responsible for accurate record keeping and documentation on the project to ensure that the project was constructed in compliance with the documents. Documentation includes not only payment to contractors but also documentation to the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission to ensure proper reimbursement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Record keeping and documentation included project field changes, daily diaries, testing requirements for materials installed by the contractor, and change orders initiated by the Owner. Final close-out requirements for this project include the submission of all test data, project field changes, record drawings, and contract cost reconciliation all in accordance with requirements of the FAA for project closure and to ensure maximum reimbursement to the Commission.
