Garver has provided a wide range of services for Muhlenberg County Airport, including these projects:
Runway Threshold
Given several approach obstruction issues, Garver determined the length of a required displaced runway threshold on a newly extended runway. The final recommendation of a 400-foot displacement of the runway threshold was coupled with a tree-removal program to dispose of a small area of remaining obstructions.
ALP Update
Garver prepared a full Airport Layout Plan set along with a 20-year Capital Improvement Plan.
T-hangar
Garver prepared design plans and specifications to expand the existing apron area to accommodate a new 6-bay T-hangar. The project included the construction of a prefabricated metal T-hangar, asphalt aircraft aprons to support the new hangar, drainage improvements, and installation of all associated utilities including water and power.
Culvert Replacement
Garver performed design services for an emergency culvert replacement and runway pavement repair. The project required the replacement of a double 24-inch diameter culvert located under the runway.
Parallel Taxiway
Garver provided design and construction administration services for a 3,200-foot by 35-foot partial parallel taxiway to the Runway 23 end. The project included drainage improvements to the airport as well as electrical upgrades to the taxiway lighting system.
New Terminal
Garver provided site design services and architectural design coordination as well as construction administration for a 4,000-square-foot airport terminal building with associated parking and sidewalk improvements.
Runway Safety Area
Garver is providing services to bring the Runway 5 Safety Area and Object Free Area into FAA compliance. The project includes grading, installation of a large box culvert with a future runway extension in mind, drainage, obstruction removal, and turfing. New perimeter security fencing also is included, involving 5,000 feet of 7-foot-tall chain link fencing and seven associated gates, including one electronically controlled main access gate to the apron.
Client Testimonial
"I have relied extensively on the knowledge and guidance of the engineers, associates, and all at the Garver office. I have nothing but praise and my undying gratitude for the help I have received from this office. Though most issues can be resolved by a phone call or email, Mr. Ryan Sisemore and other members of the Nashville office never fail to come to the airport when required to solve a problem or offer guidance on the projects."
